Beautiful carved red goldstone guardian angel.
Not a natural gemstone but a manmade product that was discovered in Venice in the seventeenth century.
Also known as "monk's gold" or "monkstone" as folklore attributes the discovery and secret of goldstone to an unnamed Italian monastic order attempting to make gold, hence the name.
A reddish brown colour due to the copper oxide which is used in the making, the crystals within glitter with almost a life of their own, making this something special.
Stands approx 5cm (2") in height.
